How firms get listed

We add firms by hand, using their own websites and public records such as Companies House. Listings are free, and firms can't pay to be added. A firm is only listed for a town if its website names that town or it is based there.

What we check, and what we don't

We check that the firm exists, that its phone number and website work, and what its own website says about its services, the areas it covers and emergency cover. We don't verify insurance, qualifications or the quality of anyone's work. Qualifications shown on a listing are as stated by the firm.

The 24/7 badge

We only show the badge when a firm's own website says it offers 24-hour or round-the-clock emergency callouts, or when the owner confirms it to us from the business's phone number or email domain. We haven't tested response times. Every other firm is marked "Not 24/7", so you know not to rely on it for an out-of-hours emergency. We recheck badge wording periodically and show the date each listing was last checked.

How listings are ordered

Firms that advertise 24/7 emergency callouts are shown first, then listings claimed by their owners, then everyone else in alphabetical order. The order is not a recommendation or a quality ranking.

Town pages

We only publish a town page once we have at least 3 firms covering it, so you always have a real choice. More towns and counties will be added as listings grow.

Report a problem

If a listing is wrong, a firm didn't answer a 24/7 callout, or you run a listed firm and want it changed or removed, email listings@247treesurgeons.com. We'll suspend a 24/7 badge while we recheck it.

Before you hire

Ask for proof of public liability insurance, check qualifications such as NPTC certificates, and get the quote in writing. See our service guides and the TPO guide. We aren't responsible for work carried out by listed firms.
